The extra-long landmark fourteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race reached its conclusion last night (April 22nd, 2022), as one of Angeria, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden and Willow Pill was named America's Next Drag Superstar in one of the world's most popular reality TV competitions.
Ahead of the crowning, each of the finalists was allowed to give a solo performance of an original song inspired by their individual charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent. After those five numbers, RuPaul decided that Lady Camden and Willow Pill would become the official final two, and would lip sync for the crown to Cher's version of ABBA classic Gimme Gimme Gimme.
Giving it their all, Ru also revealed that the cash prize for the season had been bumped up to $150,000, whilst the runner-up would get $50,000 to themselves.
Last season's Miss Congeniality, Lala Ri, also returned to reveal which of the cast had been voted for as Season 14's Miss Congeniality by their fellow queens.
Kornbread was the lucky recipient, receiving $10,000 for her efforts, whilst the rest of this year's competitors were gifted $2,000 each.
Taking home the main prize however, was Willow Pill. Along with the $150,000, she won a crown and sceptre from Fierce! Drag Jewels, a year's supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics and of course, the title that goes with it.
Speaking after the announcement, Willow said: "I really want to thank my family and my friends - and most of all, I need to thank Kornbread's ankle!"
The finale also saw audiences treated to a first look at the upcoming season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, which will feature eight former winners of the franchise for the first time ever, competing for yet another crowning moment.
With the title, 'Queen of Queens' on the line, there's everything to play for.
