Victoria Scone is "proud" to be the first-ever cis woman drag queen on 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK'.

The 27-year-old star - who has described herself as a "camp, Cardiff, cabaret, disco diva with a lot of spunk" - is the first-ever cisgender woman to compete on the hit BBC Three show, but she knows she's representing plenty of similar performers.

She said: "It feels right! I definitely didn't invent the art of drag for women. I am not the first and I certainly won't be the last.

"But I feel very capable and proud to have made it through the application process and be the first on 'Drag Race UK'.

"Me being here is political but you can just have fun with it. That's why I started. I just wanted to entertain people and that's what we're going to do! Drag can just be fun!"

The series three line-up has been revealed in full, with Victoria joined by Veronica Green - who returns after she had to drop out of season two due to COVID-19 - and newcomers Ella Vaday, Scarlett Harlett, Choriza May, Elektra Fence, Krystal Versace, Charity Kase, River Medway, Kitty Scott-Claus, Vanity Milan and Anubis.

Asked whether she calls herself an "AFAB Queen", Victoria - who wants to represent "marginalised minority groups in the queer scene" - admitted she doesn't particularly care for the label.

She added: "I would call myself a Drag Queen, Drag Artist, Extraordinaire.

"I understand it's helpful to use AFAB, which stands for Assigned Female At Birth, when we are specifically speaking about the fact that I do not own certain cis-male drag queen genitalia.

"But we don't describe cis-male Drag Queens as AMAB Queens, so as a hand tip, I'd just call us all Drag Queens or Drag Artists, and if must known, I identify as a Tony Award!"

She described her act as a bit of "all of the divas" with "high campery" and "utter nonsense", while she found drag to be a "natural progression" after going from theatre to pantomime.

She said: "That was where I first fell in love with drag. I didn't look up to Cinderella, I looked up to Widow Twankey. That was my goal: to be Widow Twankey.

"I love what drag allows me to do. I feel like I can get away with absolutely anything when I'm Victoria."

'RuPaul's Drag Race UK returns to BBC iPlayer in September.
