The former 'EastEnders' actress - who played Habiba Ahmed from 2019 to 2020 - has thanked her fans for their support, and she hopes it is not too "serious".

She shared a picture of herself in a hospital bed, and added the caption: "Thanks for all the meeeesages guys, I'm all good, just been having some issues with my tummy, nothing tooo serious I'm hoping.

"Appreciate all the love. Thank you beauties xxxx (sic)"

She quickly shared another post correcting her typo to "messages", and joked she's "still high on morphine".

Rukku made a shock exit from the BBC soap in October 2020 as her character Habiba departed Walford in the back of a taxi just days after her boyfriend Jags Panesar (Amar Adatia) was sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit.

She wrote: "BYE BYE HABIBA!! Thank you @bbceastenders for welcoming me into one of the biggest soaps in the country!

"I’ve learnt so much in the last two years and I’m grateful to have made life long friendships

"End of a chapter, onto the next one (sic)"

Jags was set up by his own mother Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), who framed him for attacking Martin Fowler (James Bye), when it was in fact her other son Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) who committed the crime.

Habiba suspected the Panesars had set Jags up and was left furious at her sister Iqra Ahmed (Priya Davdra) for sticking by her girlfriend, Jags and Vinny's sister Ash Kaur (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha), so she saw no other option but to flee Walford.

Some 'EastEnders' fans were also left fuming that Habiba had departed Albert Square, with one describing her exit as "underwhelming".

One tweeted: "Wait, was that really Habiba's exit? God, what a disappointment. I love Rukku Nahar. Habiba had so much unexplored potential (sic)"

Another wrote: "Had no idea Habiba was leaving Eastenders and that was her last scene! Such a shame as I really felt like some of the scenes from the past few weeks have been her best!

She will be missed (sic)"
