Sherlock

Sherlock

The Royal Television Society threw its annual gala event last night, awarding the biggest and brightest of British TV, as well as giving Lena Dunham’s trophy cabinet another member.

While Accused swept the acting awards, with both Olivia Coleman and Sean Bean from the show winning prizes, it was Sherlock that took home the awards for Best Drama Series and the best drama writer prize for Steven Moffat.

Jessica Hynes provided a little more spice to her victory with an expletive filled acceptance speech after beating Ruth Jones and Jack Whitehall to the Best Comedy Performance gong, while Claire Balding and Danny Boyle were both honoured for their work at the Olympics.

Girls also added to its incredible collection of awards by defeating Borgen and Homeland for the International award.
