Ross Kemp is heading to jail for his latest documentary show.
The former 'EastEnders' star will be seen living with criminals in his new Channel 5 series 'Ross Kemp: 72 Hours In' in which will investigate what it's like to be incarcerated alongside killers, gang members and drug barons in jails across the world.
According to The Sun newspaper, he said: "I’ve been to some of the world’s toughest prisons. I thought I’d experienced it all, but this time we’re going even further."
Filming will begin this summer and Ross, 58, will head to different institutions across the globe including South America and Asia.
It comes after it was revealed Ross turned down the chance to make a documentary on the doomed Titan submersible which imploded in June killing everyone on board during a trip to view the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean.
Ross' agent, InterTalent boss Professor Jonathan Shalit, revealed the idea was eventually shelved over safety fears. He told The Sun: "Their team checked out this OceanGate submersible and pulled out of using it, as it was simply not considered safe or fit for purpose. "They found other sub dives which have been safe and successful, but by that point Ross was so busy with all his TV shows that he was unable to commit the time. "I am just relieved not to have had my post note in history as the agent who killed Ross Kemp."
OceanGate's Titan submersible went missing with five passengers on board in June during a mission to view the Titanic. It was later revealed the five men aboard the mini-sub died instantly when it suffered a “catastrophic” implosion. They were named as billionaire Hamish Harding, 55, businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 19, OceanGate chief Stockton Rush, 61, and Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77.
