The 54-year-old star played Albert Square hardman Grant Mitchell in more than 1,000 episodes between 1990 and 2016 in three separate stints on the BBC One soap.

In recent years, Ross has made a name for himself with his award-winning 'Ross Kemp on Gangs' series and other programmes and he has revealed fans are now more likely to speak to him about his journalism work rather than his time in Walford.

When asked if he gets more Grant shout outs than his own moniker, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "People in London don't tend to shout anything because they're all too cool and they're all important. But I've been travelling all around the UK, and I have to say it's now more Ross than it is Grant, but I don't mind either way. Whether it's Grant or whether it's Ross it's positive and I think that a lot of the documentaries that we've made people have enjoyed watching and hopefully they'll continue to watch."

Now Ross has joined forces with game studio Ubisoft, taking on the role of President and narrating community stories from new Tom Clancy game 'The Division 2'.

Each of the stories took place in either the frozen Dark Zone in the military franchise's previous title, or in the upcoming sequel through the Private Beta.

Ross jumped at the chance to be involved in Ubisoft's narrated tales because it was a chance to do some acting again.

Opening up on his involvement, he added: "It was nice to do a bit of acting for a change. To hear the word 'action' again - because we don't often use the word action when shooting a documentary because it alerts people to what's going on, we usually count in to what we're doing.

"It was nice to get the acting juices flowing again. I really liked the game, it's quite realistic in places I have to say. The sound is amazing, for someone who has actually been to a war zone, it's accurate."

And the multi-talented star admitted he would love the chance to work with Ubisoft again in the future with a digital role of his own in an actual game.

He said: "I'd like to work with Ubisoft again, I'd like to feature in a game. I don't think you should be defined by one thing, I tried not to be defined by Grant Mitchell I probably still am by some people but I played more than one part when I was an actor and I've made more than one type of documentary. Why not be in a game? I think life is too short to be pigeonholed and I think you've got to go out there and grab it with both hands."

'Ross Kemp's Tales from the Dark Zone' have been released via Ubisoft UK's social channel ahead of the game's release on March 15.
