Roman Kemp had to improve style for BBC quiz show

The 30-year-old Capital FM Breakfast Show presenter will co-host BBC One quiz show 'The Finish Line', alongside former 'Blue Peter' presenter Sarah Greene from Monday (21.08.23) and Roman admitted his usual style isn't quite right for the BBC.

He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "Even though I do quizzes every day on the radio, it is intimidating and certainly a skill to do this show — it’s just one I had to learn.

"My relationship with Sarah isn’t serious, we’re pretty cheeky on set.

"The only serious thing is that I had to wear more reserved clothing but that’s just BBC clothing.

"I can’t go on there looking how I look on 'Gogglebox'."

Roman - whose parents are Martin and Shirlie Kemp - has also presented the documentary 'Boot Dreams' which starts on BBC Three and iPlayer on Sunday (20.08.23) but the DJ says there is more to life than work.

He explained: "Having parents who have been through the industry and a godfather who’s been through the industry in the way that George Michael did, you realise the thing everyone’s chasing isn’t actually that great.

“Yes, money is fantastic but other than that, it’s just a bit boring.

"My big worry is I zoom out at the end of my career and I go, ‘My god, I spent my whole time just trying to get people to like me’.

“I don’t perceive life as walking down red carpets. It’s about having a family and raising kids that are nice people in the world.”
