Robert Glenister has landed a role on the new series of 'The Café'.
The 'Spooks' star and 'Holby City' actor Kobna Holdbrook-Smith are the latest recruits heading to Cyril's eatery for an eight-part second series of the comedy show, which will return to Sky1 HD in July.
Written by Ralph Little and Michelle Terry, and directed by his 'Royle Family' co-star Craig Cash, the show tells the story of the owners and visitors to the fictional Weston-super-Mare-based café, which was saved from being closed at the end of the first series.
Robert will star as Sarah's (Michelle) estranged father, and Kobna is to take on the role of green-fingered engineer Jason, who helps out Stan (David Troughton).
Sarah looks set to be heartbroken once again in series two as hopes of a rekindled romance between her and former childhood sweetheart Richard (Ralph) look unlikely as his relationship with Ava (Carolin Stoltz) starts getting more serious.
June Watson and Ellie Haddington are also set to reprise their roles as café owners Mary and Carol respectively.
'The Café' will air exclusively on Sky1 HD this July.
