Robbie Williams blames himself for Acacia & Aaliyah's 'X Factor' failure.
The 44-year-old believes he is the reason his act didn't reach 'The X Factor' final this year, admitting he feels regretful that he wasn't there to guide them while he was away from his judging spot on a pre-scheduled leg of his solo tour in South America.
The former Take That star told The Sun newspaper: "Had I been with them maybe I wouldn't have had them perform 'Maniac'.
"But from South America it's difficult to feel the temperature of the performance.
"I watched it in Guadalajara in Mexico thinking, 'I wish they hadn't done that.'
"That's down to me. My not being there cost them, I think.
"But I'm delusional and think I'm going to win everything, which is how I've got this far - delusions."
While the teen duo - Acacia K, 15, and Aaliyah Robinson, 14 - didn't win the competition, the 'Angels' hitmaker is sure that they will continue to find success and is keen to work with them again after they made a huge impression with their rap skills and energetic performances.
He said: "But Acacia & Aaliyah in particular have done all that they need to do to secure a future in the music industry.
"Hopefully, I'll be working with them, if they want to work with me."
Robbie has reflected on the pair after seeing Dalton Harris - who was mentored by Louis Tomlinson - beat off competition from Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee to win this year's 'X Factor' in yesterday's (02.12.18) final.
Robbie has previously praised the 24-year-old champion's exceptional talent.
He said: "'The X Factor' is made to find people like Anthony Russell, but for you I'm baffled that you haven't already got six albums under your belt, or that you're not sat here on this side judging me and telling me how to be better."
