Rob Beckett has landed his first solo show on ITV.
The 35-year-old comedian is expected to record 'The Rob Beckett Comedy Entertainment Show', in which six celebrities will take part in a variety of challenges, in the new year.
A TV insider said: "Rob is one of those figures who is as well liked by television executives as the viewers at home, so it was really only a matter of time before he got a vehicle that showcased him.
"It’s fair to say he hasn’t really had the big break he deserves since he started to gain a profile 10 years ago - and this could be just what he needs."
Rob's initial recording is only said to be a pilot, but bosses are hoping it will result in a full series.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "This is only a pilot but there are high hopes it will lead to a full series."
Rob - who has two daughters - previously admitted he felt "panicked" about whether he would be able to "connect" with his kids because they've had such a different upbringing to him.
He said: "I do showbiz things for my job, but I don’t think I’m very showbiz. I had a very working class background, but then my kids now are living a completely different lifestyle.
"When the kids came, I didn’t really know who I am anymore or what my kids are going to be.
"I was a bit panicked, really, about … will I be able to connect with my kids when they’ve had such a different upbringing and lifestyle to me.”
