Rishi Nair was "gutted" his 'Hollyoaks' wedding didn't happen.
The 29-year-old actor's character Sami Maalik was due to marry Sinead O'Connor - played by Stephanie Davis, who has since quit the Channel 4 soap - but she jilted him on his big day after going MIA in the days leading up to the nuptials.
He said: "I was really excited just to have a big Indian wedding to film, with loads of extras, loads of food and loads of dancing.
"So I was quite gutted that it never happened. Sami was heartbroken when Sinead jilted him.
"He's been engaged so many times, though, so maybe one day we'll get to see an actual wedding."
Despite Sinead jilting him, Rishi thinks Sami was the most "loved-up" with her out of all of his love interests.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: "I think Sinead was the one he was most loved-up with - they were going to get married, so Sami thought they'd spend the rest of their lives together and have kids.
"What I like about Sami's love interests, though, is that they've all been quite different.
"His romance with Ellie was very serious, as they were going to have a baby together.
"But the scenes with Liberty were so much fun, and we got to see a side to Sami that we'd never seen before."
Sami and Sinead don't look likely to reunite anytime soon though, after Stephanie announced last month she had quit the Channel 4 soap.
She wrote: "Sometimes we make decisions based not on what we want but what we know is right! I have loved bringing Sinead into your homes for the past ten years but it's with a heavy heart I have decided to leave Hollyoaks and now looking forward to working on new and exciting projects. Excited! (sic)"
Back in December 2019, Stephanie admitted she hadn't returned to 'Hollyoaks' because she "relapsed" and tried to take her own life.
She posted at the time: "I haven't been back to work because the real truth is I relapsed & tried to kill my self. (sic)"
