A new contract extending Ricky Norwood's time on 'Eastenders' has been signed.
The 25-year-old actor - who has played Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb on the popular BBC One soap for almost four years - will be returning to Albert Square for the foreseeable future after saying yes to a deal that'll see him come back for at least another 12 months.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Ricky is over the moon with his new contract. Fatboy is a popular character and appeals to all ages."
The happy-go-lucky market stall holder hasn't had a major storyline for a while, but new 'EastEnders' boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins has promised Ricky that there are some dramatic plots on the horizon for his character.
The source explained: "He's not had a decent storyline for a while but always provides much-needed humour in Albert Square.
"Dom had a good chat with Ricky and they're both looking forward to the future for Fatboy.
"He's got some good stuff coming up and is an important member of the cast."
Meanwhile, Samantha Womack has also extended her contract as former baby snatcher Ronnie Mitchell after Dominic vowed to shake things up for the residents of Walford.
Samantha said previously: "With Dom taking over I think the show is really going to flip. I got really excited about it and wanted to be a part of that."
