Ricky Gervais only spends eight minutes a day working on TV scripts.
The 59-year-old comedy star - whose hits include 'The Office', 'Extras' and 'After Life' - has admitted he no longer agonises about scenes in his TV shows, revealing his short attention span only allows him to work for a few minutes at a time.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I potter around, I have more than one thing on the go, so my attention span can be eight minutes at a time.
"I look at it like this - if I am writing a script and I have got six months to write, I only have to come up with a couple of minutes a day. That couple of minutes on screen is an afternoon’s filming.
"And because I am writing it for me to direct it everything is a bit quicker."
Ricky thinks he's now reaping the benefits of his relaxed approach to work.
He said: "It has sort of been a revelation. I am very relaxed now about everything I do."
The stand-up star added: "Often my laziness has been mistaken for integrity."
Meanwhile, Ricky previously claimed the world would actually be a "better place" if the human species were to be completely wiped out.
The comedy star - who played David Brent in 'The Office' - also insisted that bees are more important than humans.
Ricky said: "We are part of nature - we are not above it - we are not in charge. We are not even the most important species.
"If we were wiped out tomorrow the world would be a better place ... it would go back and it would be perfect again."
