‘Stay Close’ star Richard Armitage was surprised to hear he hadn't been included in the show's WhatsApp group.
The 50-year-old actor - who plays Ray Levine in the Netflix’s mystery thriller series - found out on live TV that that there was such a chat, and admitted he isn't in it.
Before talking to Lorraine Kelly on her ITV morning show 'Lorraine' today (06.01.22), she introduced the upcoming interview with the star and said: "Up next, it's the thriller with so many twists and turns that the cast needed a WhatsApp group just to keep up."
Richard said: "'The Stranger' did really well for them [Netflix] and we're really happy that ‘Stay Close’, I think it's number one in 43 countries. But I can't believe there was a WhatsApp group, nobody told me about that."
Lorraine was baffled to discover he wasn’t included in the group chat, and she responded: "Oh no, are you not in the WhatsApp group with all the cast?
"Seriously? Are you not? Maybe there wasn't a WhatsApp group, so let's just forget about that."
Richard laughed it off and joked he was going to text executive producer Harlan Coben.
Both ‘The Stranger’ - which he also starred in - and ‘Stay Close’ are mystery thriller series made up of eight episodes based on Harlan's novels of the same name.
‘Stay Close’ follows the story of three individuals whose lives quickly become intertwined as they are disturbed by a terrible event from the past.
Speaking about his ‘Stay Close’ co-star Sarah Parish, Richard added: "I wanted to work with Sarah Parish for forever so we couldn't stop talking on set."
