Reece Dinsdale has returned to 'Emmerdale' as a director today (24.05.21) - after his character was killed off last month.
The 61-year-old star joined the ITV soap as Paul Ashdale in April last year following a successful directing stint on the show, but the actor has stepped back behind the camera after his gambling addict character died in a huge barn explosion stunt.
Lisa Riley - whose character Mandy Dingle was due to marry Paul on the day he died - wrote on Instagram: "GOOD LUCK DADDY DINS REECE DINSDALE as you start your block Directing @ITV @emmerdale tomorrow, everyone’s behind you,and so happy for you. I was just wondering “are you bringing your coat” still at two meters,I send you a big snuggle of my love and luck #hug #sunday #goodluck #directing #reecedinsdale #Emmerdale #itv #teamwork #together (sic)"
Reece admitted last night that he wasn't expecting to sleep much ahead of his return to the soap.
He wrote on Twitter: "I’ll not sleep much tonight... but I’d better at least attempt to get some.
Sleep tight, and tomorrow I shall let you know how my first day went. I hope yours goes well. Crossed fingers
Goodnight, good people. x (sic)"
Reece made his 'Emmerdale' acting debut in April 2020 following a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He tweeted at the time: "For those of you remotely interested... I was meant to be making my #Emmerdale debut this evening but, with the reduced weekly output, I’m led to believe it may be next Wednesday (April 15th?) instead.
"I’ll keep you posted. (sic)"
