Rylan Clark-Neal's reboot of 'Ready Steady Cook' has been axed after two series.
The iconic BBC cooking show returned last year with the 32-year-old presenter as host, but the broadcaster has decided to axe the programme to create space for new shows after "two brilliant series".
A spokesperson for the BBC told The Sun newspaper: "We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to grow new shows and after two brilliant series of 'Ready Steady Cook', we're making space in the schedule for some exciting new titles that we're sure viewers will enjoy.
"We are hugely grateful to Rylan and our team of chefs for making the return of the series so special."
The format sees contestants paired with a chef each to go head-to-head in a series of challenges to reflect contemporary ways of cooking, from budget meals to healthy food.
Over the two seasons, up-and-coming chefs, including Mike Reid, Romy Gill, Akis Petretzikis, Ellis Barrie and Anna Haugh, showed off their culinary skills.
Former host Ainsley Harriott previously heaped praise on Rylan's modern revamp after he contacted him about the role.
The 64-year-old chef, who hosted the programme from 2000 to 2010, said: "Rylan has been in touch and I went back to him and said: 'Keep going, be positive'."
Ainsley took over the role from Fern Britton, and was delighted the show was back after 10 years off-air.
He said: "It's lovely, it's back. It's a fantastic format - a bag of ingredients, 20 minutes later you've got a meal."
Meanwhile, Rylan recently returned to BBC Radio 2 after taking some time away from the spotlight.
Returning to host his Saturday show at the weekend after 10 weeks off, he said: "It really is me. Welcome back to Rylan on Saturday.’
"It does feel good to be back and I am feeling better."
