Perry Fenwick has revealed Ray Winstone once nearly joined 'EastEnders' as his on-screen brother.
The 58-year-old star has told how the Hollywood actor was in talks to be cast in the BBC One soap as his character Billy Mitchell's sibling - but he ended up starring as George "Mac" Michale in 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' instead.
Perry told Inside Soap magazine: "It nearly happened once.
"Ray was thinking about it, and then he got a role in 'Indiana Jones'.
"If it was a choice between Hollywood or Borehamwood, I know which way I’d go."
Ray has previously admitted starring in a soap wasn't for him, but also insisted he would "never say never".
Speaking in 2018, he said: "It's not for me. I've got mates in it who do a great job.
"But that thing about turning up five times a week, these guys work really hard, it just ain't for me.
"I wouldn't do it, and that's it. But never say never!"
And earlier that year, he also admitted he would be the only one originally from East London in the show, apart from Perry, if he did ever sign up for the programme.
He said: "I think I'd probably be the only one from the East End in the show.
"Apart from my mate Perry."
What's more, in 2010, Ray was said to be wanted by show bosses for the soap after admitting he was "out of work and spending time with my wife and kids", but a role in Walford didn't materialise.
