Ray Quinn says working as a delivery driver last year was a "humbling experience".
The former 'Hollyoaks' actor landed a job working for Hermes to earn some money when the coronavirus pandemic hit, and following the experience, he has "massive respect" for anyone doing a full-time delivery job.
He said: "It was only ever temporary. I did it for about three months.
"I felt bored and needed to fill my time. It kept my mind occupied. I'm never shy of a hard day's work.
"I have massive respect for people who do it day in, day out.
"Some days you have 20 or 30 parcels, others it's 100 and a route you've never done before.
"It was a humbling experience and I'm proud of it.
"There's a sense of achievement. I'd done a full day's work, earned a bit of pay and then got to go home to my family."
Ray also did some work with his brother for his carpet-fitting business to save some cash for his and fiancée Emily Fletcher's forever home.
The couple - who got engaged in 2019 when Ray popped the question on New Year's Eve - had to put plans to purchase their dream house on hold last year when the pandemic hit, and they moved in with Emily's family.
When asked if he found 2020 tough financially, Ray - who has son Harry, eight, from his former marriage - said: "I think my industry in general is tough because you're constantly chasing your next job.
"Before the pandemic hit, we were saving for our forever home and put that on hold."
But the pair are hoping to make an offer on a place in the coming weeks.
Speaking in a joint interview with OK! magazine, Emily - who has son Lucian, seven, from a previous relationship - added: "We'll hopefully make an offer in March or April."
