The 'In The Shadows' rockers - who are representing Finland as part of the annual music competition - will the first act to perform at the second set of semis on Thursday (12.05.22) as they look to secure a spot in the grand final this weekend.

In a statement, the band said: "The first training week went really well!

"Everything at the arena is so well organized and we’d like to give big credit to the professional stage team at Eurovision, who are working with our challenging performance.

"The atmosphere in Turin is lovely and people are all kind smiles. It is a great honor to represent Finland in such a wonderful event."

Their entry track 'Jezebel' was co-written by frontman Lauri Ylonen and producer Desmond Child.

Reflecting on the band's chances, the singer told Eurovision this week: "It’s an interesting angle that we have a history, with a huge hit [2003's 'In the Shadows’], which was a success in a lot of the countries in the contest.

"I’m curious to see if that will cause a reaction and wake up the beast!

"Maybe there’s a nostalgic side to it, but bands are always measured by their latest song. The past is the past."

Meanwhile, guitarist Emilia ‘Emppu’ Suhonen - the band's newest member, joining Lauri, Eero Heinonen and Aki Hakala - hopes to inspire young women to pick up a guitar and join a band.

She added: "There are unfortunately a lot of little girls who are hesitant to grab a guitar or form a rock band, even though music should be gender-free.

"Maybe there should be more support from society and school.

"That early environment is crucial, so girls would be more likely to pick up instruments and play."
