Ranvir Singh broke down in tears on 'Lorraine' today (27.07.21) as she spoke to Dr Alex George about his brother's suicide.
The 43-year-old star is currently standing in for Lorraine Kelly on the breakfast programme, and she got emotional earlier this morning as she interviewed the former 'Love Island' star one year on from his 19-year-old sibling Llyr's tragic passing.
She said: "I think you're amazing for what you do, with all the pain you've carried."
Alex replied: "Thank you, we get through."
Ranvir got teary, and added: "I feel quite emotional speaking to you, because we all think of our own families.
"So thank you, for everything you're doing."
Earlier this year, Alex was made a Youth Mental Health Ambassador by Prime Minister Boris Johnson to advise the government and raise the profile of mental health education and wellbeing in schools.
And the doctor admitted today the role has "given [him] a sense of purpose".
Alex - who is dating barristers' clerk Ellie Hecht - also told how he has had moments in 2021 where he has "really struggled".
Speaking on 'Lorraine', he added: "I met Ellie a little while ago and she's brilliant, and her alongside my friends and my family have been an amazing source of support to me.
"There's moments in this last year where I've really struggled.
"I'm very happy to say that. We need the people around us to support us.
"And there have been times where I've had to say to my family, 'Gosh, I'm really finding it tough right now,' and I hope anyone listening to this will understand there's such a great amount of strength to be able to bring people in when you need them and ask for that support."
