Rachel Riley has been subjected to an eight-month campaign of abuse by a mentally ill man on Twitter.
Rachel Riley, star of 'Countdown' was tormented for eight-months on the social networking site by mentally ill Anthony Well - who subjected her to verbal abuse and even threatened violence towards her.
The 31-year-old lived just 20 miles from the former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant whom he bombarded with over 500 messages, some of which made startling claims against her, reports The Mirror newspaper.
Rachel, 28, feared the stalker would even "use violence against her" after he posted disturbing messages wishing her injury online.
In one post he said: "I hope your eyes bleed and your skin dries. I hope you fall to the earth like a child lost at birth... Dedicated to Rachel Annabelle Riley."
In another he wrote: "Rachel Annabelle Riley was caught having underage sex with a minor backstage on countdown.
"Rumours suggest she is dying of cancer."
Anthony, from Chelmsford in Essex, also targeted Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin, 37, on the social networking site.
He wrote to the singer: "Hey chris martin, keep touching me and I'm going to blow your children's heads off with guns."
Judge Owen Davies QC - who resided over the case - has since imposed a restraining order on Anthony, banning him from having any contact with Rachel.
He has also been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
