Rachel Finni spoke to a therapist every day in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
Fans had previously expressed concern that the 29-year-old travel agent was regularly seen crying on the programme, but after departing the show, she has pointed out there is “24-hour support” is available “with a therapist” who can be spoken to on a daily basis.
She told Closer magazine: "The mental health checks are amazing - you have to have a thorough assessment ahead of going in, and 24-hour support in the villa with a therapist who you speak to every day.
"When I left I had regular calls with a therapist to check I was OK.
"They ask if you're sleeping, how you're feeling - they couldn't do any more."
Rachel became the third contestant to leave the show - following in the footsteps of Chuggs Wallis and Shannon Singh - as she was dumped by Brad McClelland, 25, in a recoupling episode earlier this month.
Rachel admitted afterwards she should've chosen Chuggs over Brad.
She fumed: "I was stupid enough to fall for Brad’s graft, because it wasn’t genuine.
"Chuggs would have actually made the effort to get to know me.
"I went for Brad because he was more physically attractive."
The recoupling saw Brad choose Lucinda Strafford over Rachel, who he was coupled up with.
Brad previously admitted to Lucinda that he wasn't really interested in Rachel, even though he chatted her up in order to keep his place in the villa.
He said: "I’ve only known the lass for two days, you’re more my type.
"For the first time, I’ve literally been like, ‘Jesus Christ, I’d be buzzing to get into bed with her.’
"I’ve never had that. I think you’re absolutely stunning. You honestly are."
