Ryan Thomas plans to stuff a sock down his pants before his 'Dancing On Ice' performances.
The former 'Coronation Street' star is happy to embrace anything the costume department offer him when he takes to the ice, but admitted he's concerned about the impact of the tight-fitting costumes and the cold conditions in the rink.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "I love them – the tighter the better. The only thing is, I’ll be putting a sock down there because it’s cold on the ice.
“I don’t care about colours. I don’t care about skirts, I don’t care about leotards. You put me in it, I’ll wear it. I love dressing up.”
The 39-year-old actor is "fearless" and confident in his skating ability ahead of the show starting on Sunday (14.01.24) , with his biggest concern being accidentally causing injury to his professional partner Armani Fancy.
He said: “As a kid, I played roller hockey. I’m fearless. All I’m worried about is dropping Amani, there’s a lot of responsibility in my hands, literally.
“But I’m not holding back on lifts. This is fighting talk.”
Ryan thinks it is "fate" that he was asked to be on the show because he got the call just days after his daughter Scarlett - who he has with former girlfriend Tina O'Brien - randomly asked him to take part.
Asked about his family's reaction to him taking part in the new series, Ryan - who also has Roman, three, and Lilah, 19 months, with fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh - said: “They were delighted for me, because they know how much I enjoy skating.
“My being on the show seems a bit like fate actually, because the week before I got the phone call, my 15-year old daughter Scarlett said to me out of the blue, ‘Dad, will you do 'Dancing On Ice'?’”
