The next series of ‘The Crown’ will reportedly feature the Duke of Sussex’s Nazi uniform scandal.
Netflix is said to be planning to show the “native and colonial” fancy dress
party the royal, who was then 20, turned up to dressed in a shirt emblazoned with a swastika – which he recently called one of the “biggest mistakes” of his life.
A source told The Sun, which featured a picture of Harry dressed as a member of Rommel’s Afrika Korps in its ‘Harry The Nazi’ front page from 2005: “It is one of the most shameful incidents in Harry’s life and one that he finally addressed in December.
“Older generations will remember The Sun’s ‘Harry The Nazi’ story and photo but this past episode in Harry’s life may come as news to Netflix’s many younger viewers.
“In more recent times, Harry has made claims about racism in the UK and unconscious bias in the Royal Family on Netflix. It is kind of ironic that Netflix is the one to bring up this incident.”
Harry wore the costume – which featured the Nazis’ swastika on his arm and the badge of the German Wehrmacht on his collar – to a party hosted by Olympic showjumper Richard Meade.
He attended the event with his older brother Prince William, 40, who reportedly dressed in a skin-tight black leotard with a leopard skin pattern and matching leopard skin tail and paws.
Harry had also worn an army-style jacket with a German flag on the arm earlier in the evening.
The Royal Family rapidly apologised for Harry’s outfit after a picture of it emerged, but the duke failed to address the incident until three months ago.
He said in the third episode of his ‘Harry and Meghan’ Netflix docuseries it had brought him “shame” and he had been intent on making “it right”.
Harry will be played by actor Luther Ford in the upcoming sixth series of ‘The Crown’ as a teenager, while Ed McVey will play William.
