Yesterday (January 31st, 2022) Apple TV+ announced a brand new animated preschool series, Pretzel and the Puppies, which is set to debut on the streaming service in less than two weeks.
The upcoming show is based on the much-loved pooch from the classic book, Pretzel, written by award-winning authors Margret and H.A. Rey, who also created the well-known character, Curious George.
Pretzel and the Puppies is an original story about the modern dog family, led by stay-at-home dad Pretzel, his five incredibly cute Dachshund puppies, and mom Greta, mayor of Muttgomery.
The forthcoming series includes the voice talents of Emmy Award-nominee Mark Duplass (The Morning Show), Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live) and newcomers Milo Stein, Alex Jayne Go, Max Mitchell, Amari McCoy and Gracen Newton.
When your father is the ‘world’s longest dachshund’, growing up has a whole new twist!
The show will span eight episodes, and will follow Pretzel (Duplass), Greta (Pedrad), and the pups in their beloved hometown of Muttgomery.
They are a modern and one-of-a-kind family, who are always digging up ways to ‘Make Their Bark’, and make the world a better place for their four-pawed friends and neighbours.
Pretzel and Greta are wonderful dog parents, who always encourage their puppies to try and get through problems on their own, and tell them to “Get those Paws Up!” when faced with a difficult challenge.
The trailer for Pretzel and the Puppies teases a bright, adorable show that will definitely keep children entertained; the residents of Muttgomery all seem to be happy and jovial, but it seems that Pretzel and his canine wife will do all they can to make thing even better!
The family of dachshunds appear to be a wonderful collection of characters who truly love one another. The trailer highlights that everyone can be different; one pup has glasses and another has a wheelchair, showing kids that differences make us who we are, and that’s a wonderful thing.
Pretzel and the Puppies will arrive on Apple TV+ on Friday, February 11th, 2022.
