Louise Thompson was rushed to hospital after she coughed up blood, and doctors feared she could have developed a blood clot during her pregnancy.
The 31-year-old star - who took to Instagram in March to reveal she had suffered a miscarriage - confirmed in May she is expecting, and while she was "quite unwell" a few weeks ago, she "feels guilty" talking about how tough her pregnancy has been at times.
Louise told MailOnline: "Everyone's experience is different, some people find it a doddle and they feel guilty for saying how easy they found it but I almost feel guilty saying how hard I find it because there are people that can't get pregnant in the first place.
"There have been a number of scans and I was quite unwell about three weeks ago.
"I had to go to Chelsea and Westminster hospital because I was coughing up blood.
"I had to have scans because they were worried I had a blood clot. The chance of getting a blood clot in pregnancy is a lot higher than not in pregnancy, and I have an autoimmune condition as well."
Fortunately, after a 24-hour hospital stay the 'Made in Chelsea' star's scan results were "fine", but she is still "in a high-risk category".
Louise is due to give birth to her and fiancé Ryan Libbey's baby in November, and she is "really excited" about being a mum.
She added: "Now, I'm really excited about the prospect of motherhood.
"Ryan is apprehensive, and really excited but he's a little bit more nervous. It's such a big change."
Louise took to social media in May to tell fans she is expecting after she took a "billion gazillion pregnancy tests".
She wrote: "Counting our blessings
I thought I’d have all sorts of creative ways to deliver this information but the truth is the last 12 weeks have been quite challenging. Unlike last time, Ryan and I haven’t documented our journey at all. I’ve hardly taken any pictures or videos for fear that something might happen. I’ve also felt like ASS. I never knew that fatigue or ‘flatness’ like this existed in pregnancy. There are 0 before and after snaps, no week to week transformations or fun reveal videos with friends and family leading a trail of buns to an oven, instead there is a drawer filled with 10000000x billion gazillion pregnancy tests (shameless and expensive) and some sensitive conversations where we try not to get too excited. (sic)"
