The 40-year-old TV star - who is currently expecting her first child with fiance Martin, who she calls Boj - has revealed via Instagram that she's having to self-isolate after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

The former 'Big Brother' star wrote: "The past 7 days have been a rollercoaster of emotions starting with a hospital scan last Wednesday, where we were told Boj could come the day before, but when we arrived he wasn't allowed in due to Covid restrictions.

"I then spoke to a consultant via video link on Monday who informed me there is a possibility that Boj won’t be allowed to attend the birth in February.

"This was followed by the lockdown announcement from Boris.

"Now today, we've both been pinged by our NHS test and trace apps saying we've come into contact with somebody who's tested positive for the virus and we both have to self-isolate.

"It's one of those weeks where everything seems to be happening at once I guess and I really am trying to stay positive but it's difficult."

Kate hopes she'll be able to welcome her baby into the world alongside her fiance.

She said: "To be told you can't give birth the way you want to must be heartbreaking.

"I'm hopeful the law won't change if cases/deaths increase over the next five weeks and we'll be allowed to welcome our daughter into the world, together.

"Also fingers crossed, we don't develop symptoms between now and then.

"Sending so much love and thanks for your messages and support over the past few days, I've been overwhelmed by your kindness and apologies if I don't reply to everyone it's just impossible. Xx⁣. (sic)"

Kate recently admitted she's "scared" about the possibility of giving birth alone after the UK was hit with a third national lockdown.

She said: "I might have to go it alone, so first of all my heart goes out to any woman who had to give birth without her partner there."
