Piers Morgan and Ranvir Singh were forced to sit further apart on 'Good Morning Britain' today (18.03.20) as a precautionary measure following the coronavirus outbreak.
The 'GMB' co-hosts sat a metre away from each other "on health grounds" to present today's news programme, after nearly 8,000 people worldwide were killed by the virus.
Speaking on the show, Piers said: "Ranvir, no offence, we're being separated here on health grounds.
"Ranvir said, 'I'll only co-host with him if you put up a metre-long barrier.' "
He also revealed the show was down to a skeleton crew of around eight people.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Piers said: "It's a weird thing isn't it? I came into the studio this morning, which is normally teaming with people.
"There's literally about eight people here manning all the cameras, normally there would be double or treble that."
Lorraine praised her team during the crisis.
She said: "I have to do a big shout out to all of my team and the brilliant crew. Everybody is being really safe here.
"They have been fantastic and very, very sensible. Everybody wants to still come to their work, but there's no point being stupid about it. If you've got anything you have to stay home."
Piers also pointed out he has received a number of emails suggesting he should self-isolate, which comes after his usual 'GMB' co-host Susanna Reid began a period of self-isolation this week due to coronavirus, after her son came down with a persistent cough.
Lord Sugar - who regularly exchanges tweets with Piers - took to Twitter to suggest the TV presenter should also quarantine himself.
He wrote: "If @susannareid100 may have Corona passed on from her son. Does it not follow that as she has been in contact with @piersmorgan he should be in isolation also. (sic)"
Yesterday (17.03.20), Susanna said she's in a "privileged position" after entering a period of self-isolation.
Susanna - who has sons Sam, 18, Finn, 16, and Jack, 15, with her ex-partner Dominic Cotton - explained via a video link on 'Good Morning Britain': "One of my children has a cough. And that came on yesterday. Before the [Prime Minister's] briefing yesterday afternoon, the advice had been the person themselves would be confined to the house for seven days.
"Well, suddenly with these new drastic action measures, that changed yesterday afternoon. It meant if one member of your household had the cough or fever you would all have to go in self-isolation for 14 days.
"Immediately, I thought I can't go into work and work with you guys for 14 days. All the children are off. We're two households."
