“I still can’t hear anyone in my bloody ear,” he yelled. “I don’t know what is going on with this. This has been going on for a week now. I’m not hearing anyone!” Those were the words of Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan as he failed to realise his microphone was still on, following an interview he conducted with Tory MP Michael Gove earlier today. You can check out the footage, captured by Twitter user Richard Walton below:
His earpiece seemed to eventually start working, as when Morgan realised he was back on the air he went straight back to reading off of the autocue, toning down his language in the process.
The anger-fuelled rant came after Morgan had been questioning Gove about last week’s Grenfell Tower tragedy in London, which has taken the lives of almost 80 people to-date, with that number expected to rise in the near future.
Gove said he was “emotionally distraught” during the interview, but told Morgan he should “coolly” approach the situation in attempts to stop it from becoming “theatrical”.
Morgan then told him to “stick your coolness where the sun don’t shine,” before telling the MP that he was “angry about these people” and “angry about the other people who are now living in terror in other tower blocks”.
Good Morning Britain continues on ITV, weekdays at 6am.
