Piers Morgan will quit 'Good Morning Britain' after his two-year contract ends.
The 54-year-old star recently announced he signed a new two-year deal with ITV to keep him on the breakfast show with co-host Susanna Reid, but now he has revealed he will leave the show when that comes to an end.
Revealing the news on Tuesday's (17.12.19) show, Piers said: "I've got two more years.
"Two more years of stories... anyway, that's it, two more years and then I'll sail off into the sunset."
The outspoken host joined 'Good Morning Britain' in 2015 and previously revealed he is determined to remain on the programme until they beat rival show BBC's 'Breakfast' in the ratings war.
He broke the news of his latest deal - which includes two more series of his interview show 'Life Stories' - on Monday (16.12.19).
Piers tweeted: "BREAKING NEWS*. After weeks of frenzied global, possibly galactic speculation, I'm delighted to announce I've just signed a new 2-year deal with ITV to co-present @GMB & two more 5-part series of Life Stories (sic)."
He jokingly added: "What could be a better Christmas present for the nation?"
Some viewers were left disappointed by the news as one tweeted: "Looks like the election result was just the beginning of the bad news then."
Whilst another wrote: "Unfortunately you are the most annoying man on television."
However, it wasn't just the nation that had mixed feelings about his renewal as Susanna, 49, wasn't too pleased either.
Piers told viewers: "My tweet (last night) went down well, thank you people. I know how pleased you were. Slightly underwhelmed by the response from my colleagues.
"The viewers are euphoric. My co-workers are wrestling with it... I've seen more cheerful people in a mausoleum."
