Speaking of his short addition, Piers said: "I'm very excited to be joining Susanna and the GMB team for a week. Thanks to my 3-year-old daughter's sleeping pattern, I've been waking up at 4am for quite a while now. So the early starts shouldn't present any problem."
Now almost a year old, Good Morning Britain has proved its critics wrong and brought together an array of different stories from the worlds of news, sport, weather, entertainment and human interest features for its audience.
Despite moving from BBC Breakfast to the show, Susanna Reid took home the 2015 TRIC Award for Newspresenter of the Year, with fellow presenter Ben Shephard also nominated in the same category.
