Piers Morgan will "possibly" leave 'Good Morning Britain' in 2021.
The 55-year-old TV presenter has hinted he could walk away from his lucrative job on the ITV show next year, after announcing that he and co-host Susanna Reid are set to take a break from the programme until September.
Piers said: "We have two more days left, then you'll all be glad to see the back of us."
But Susanna quickly clarified: "For now! Whenever you say we're off and we're leaving..."
Piers added: "Morgan quits! Good riddance!
"This is not forever, we'll be back in September."
The outspoken TV star then read a letter from a viewer who had sent in paintings of the two hosts.
The accompanying note read: "I thought I heard you state you're leaving at the end of the year."
In response, Piers said: "I'm not ... Leaving next year ... Possibly."
Susanna, 49 - who previously co-hosted 'BBC Breakfast', before making the switch to ITV - jokingly replied: "Contract negotiations underway."
Earlier this year, Piers revealed he'd penned a new contract with 'Good Morning Britain' until 2021.
The broadcaster admitted he loves working alongside Susanna and the show's production team.
Speaking in May, Piers explained: "I've just signed a new contract up for 'GMB' until the end of next year. I love working with Susanna and the team - we're a Ying Yang that works."
Piers also hit back at his critics, telling them to change the channel if they don't enjoy his outspoken style.
He said: "If my style upsets people, don't watch! Watch something else. Nobody's forcing anyone to watch it.
"You've got a remote control in your hand, I really don't understand what the problem is."
