Phillip Schofield has defended Holly Willoughby after critics and viewers slammed her racy outfit on 'The Voice'.
The 32-year-old presenter's low-cut lace dress offended some viewers, with 139 complaints received from viewers.
While the BBC have apologised, Holly's 'This Morning' co-host ridiculed those who were offended by her choice of outfit for the live final of the TV singing contest.
He tweeted: "139 complaints over Holly's gorgeous Voice dress. Let's hope those outraged on behalf of their kids don't take them to the beach this summer.
"God forbid they might see a woman in a bikini before 9pm and be traumatised by the sight of her cleavage!"
Although the BBC issued a public apology, they have stood by Holly and described the dress as "glamorous and wholly appropriate".
A spokesman said: "We're sorry if some viewers found Holly's dress to be unsuitable.
"Holly enjoys fashion and we felt the dress she wore for the live final of The Voice UK was glamorous and wholly appropriate for the occasion."
The offending dress was worn during the live final of the talent show on Saturday (22.06.13) which also saw hopeful Andrea Begley beat favourite Leah McFall to win the competition.
