Phil Vickery has compared filming 'This Morning' with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to "working with children" because the presenting pair are so mischievous.
The 59-year-old star - who is the longest serving chef on the ITV daytime magazine show - says the duo just can't help themselves when it comes to pranking and ribbing him and their co-stars.
In an interview with website Entertainment Daily, he spilled: "You need to be really on the ball. I just keep going.
"It’s like working with children. [Off camera they’re] Exactly the same. P***-takers.”
Vickery also opened up on his fellow chef Gino D'Acampo, and offered a very tongue-in-cheek assessment of the Italian kitchen star.
He teased: "Gino is a glorified waiter, he's not even a chef. No, we get on really well. He always calls me the master so he knows his place."
Alison Hammond recently took over alongside Dermot O'Leary as the new presenters every Friday in place of husband-and-wife pairing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Phil is a big fan of Alison's presenting style and insisted, despite being "absolutely bonkers," she is very easy to work with.
He said: "Alison is absolutely bonkers. She just wears me out. She is non-stop. You wind her up and off she goes.
"You stand back and watch, you don’t have to do anything. And the thing about Alison is she’s never changed. I take my hat off to her."
Phil has been the 'This Morning' chef since 2006, and he admitted while he has just signed on for another year, he knows his time on the programme can't last forever.
He said: "Every year I get a contract is a bonus. I’ve just got one now, I’ve signed it today, another year.
"Everyone’s got a shelf life, I’ll go one day, but when I do I’ll shake their hands and I’ll say thank you, I’ve had a good run.
"I get more enjoyment cooking on 'This Morning' than I ever did winning Michelin stars and restaurant of the year."
