Netflix have confirmed via the official Tumblr page for Sense8 that they won’t be renewing the series for a third season, despite the incredible amount of support the show has had since it was announced it wouldn’t be given a renewal.
Sense8 made its return to Netflix earlier this year
The streaming service wrote in the Tumblr letter: “To our Sense8 family… We’ve seen the petitions. We’ve read the messages. We know you want to #RenewSense8, and we wish we could #BringBackSense8 for you. The reason we’ve taken so long to get back to you is because we’ve thought long and hard here at Netflix to try to make it work but unfortunately we can’t. Thank you for watching and hope you’ll stay close with your cluster around the world. #SensatesForever”.
Though passionate, the words will do nothing to alleviate the hunger that the show’s most loyal fans will have for a third season, or even a final episode to tie up all the loose ends left dangling by the end of season 2.
With a cast that were all looking to make a return, the fact Sense8 has come to an abrupt end is even more hard to swallow. For now, though, the decision to end the series is final – and that’s a terrible shame.
