Peter Kay won't be writing any more episodes of 'Car Share'.
The 44-year-old comedian reportedly doesn't want to pen any more episodes of the popular series - which stars himself as John and Sian Gibson as Kayleigh - as he wants it to go out on a high.
A source told The Sun's Bizarre column: "He believes great sitcoms should go out on a high like 'Fawlty Towers'. So sadly that's definitely the end, however much fans might beg for more."
The 'Car Share' finale was aired on Monday (28.05.18) night and to the delight of the fans, John and Kayleigh finally showed each other how much they liked on another.
The news comes after Peter made a surprise appearance at a charity screening of 'Car Share' at Blackpool Opera House last month to thank the show's fans for their support.
He said: "Thank you very much for supporting the Lily Foundation raising money for mitochondrial disease. Very kind of you. I appreciate it. Enjoy the last ever episode of 'Car Share'. Don't tell anyone the end. Or tell anyone about any hedgehogs. So thank you. Lots of love, enjoy, take care, bye-bye."
It was Peter's first appearance in public since he tweeted a statement in December to announce his stand-up tour had to be cancelled.
He wrote at the time: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects. This includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.
"My sincerest apologies. The decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand that my family must always come first. I've always endeavoured to protect my family's privacy from the media. I hope that the media and the public will continue to respect our privacy at this time. Once again, I'm very sorry."
