Peter Kay has confirmed he's reuniting the cast of Phoenix Nights for a live stage show.
He revealed the news that he, Paddy McGuinness, Dave Spikey and the rest of the series' cast are to reprise their roles from the popular comedy hit for two nights only, in a bid to raise money for Comic Relief.
Speaking about his decision, Peter said it was: "Because I always like to do something for Comic Relief and this year I just thought, it'll take a year to probably organise... I rang the cast and they overwhelmed me with their generosity.
"Everybody's doing it for free, everyone's got involved... It's all in Manchester, it's only for two nights. It's not touring and all the money's going to Comic Relief. That's it."
Peter stars as the club's owner Brian Potter and door man Max, and admits it has been hard to get the cast back together, but now he can't wait to get back on the road.
On BBC Radio 2 show Steve Wright in the Afternoon, Peter said: "It's overwhelming... It's been fantastic. It's been hard getting everyone back together date-wise."
Meanwhile the star insists he doesn't have plans to go on a nationwide tour or to bring the show back for a future series.
He added: "I don't know about the series. I don't think so, I've no plans to. It's a case of just doing one thing at a time, little steps, do this ... And the main reason for doing this is for Comic Relief."
'Phoenix Nights' will take to the stage at the Manchester Arena on January 31 and February 1 and tickets go on sale this Sunday (30.11.14) at 11am.
