Peter Capaldi is struggling to believe the sex symbol status he's acquired following taking on the role as the Time Lord in BBC One series Doctor Who.
The actor admits he's confused about why fans of the cult TV show find him so attractive, and confirms the only love in his life is wife Elaine Collins.
Speaking at a fundraiser for the London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard, which was hosted by 'Doctor Who' writer Mark Gatiss, Peter explained: "I genuinely can't believe it. The only person that I want to love me is my wife and that's the only person that I love. But if people enjoy my profile in the privacy of their own home, well then..."
He also suggested that fans are excited to meet him because so many famous actors have taken on the role of the Doctor.
"You get met with so many smiles but really it's because of the part. In a way they meet Matt and Tom.
"It's a little exposing, and some days you feel vulnerable - but it's been fabulous."
Peter also explained that mundane jobs such as sorting out his car are ones he has to deal with.
Talking to the Metro newspaper he said: "I still have to go and do the shopping, and have to do my MOT and all that dreary stuff, but the other stuff is just absolutely extraordinary."
