Peter Andre was left terrified by an encounter with a Japanese mafioso.
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here’ contestant, 50, revealed he had a run-in with a gangster demonstrating his “authority” while he was living in Tokyo and “fortunately” the situation didn’t “escalate”.
He told the Sunday Times: “I was at a bar in Tokyo, where I lived for a few months.
“On this particular night, this man just started yelling at me really aggressively and it turned out he was a member of the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza.
“I had no idea what he was saying but apparently it was a demonstration of his authority.
“I was petrified but fortunately the situation didn’t escalate.”
Peter also spilled about the time he and the 90s boyband the Backstreet Boys – Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough – spent time in a sauna without any clothes and was left cringing by the encounter.
He said: “I toured with the Backstreet Boys for a year, and we would play basketball in the afternoons then hang out in the best restaurants and nightclubs after the shows, but one time we decided to visit a steam room and sauna in Germany.
“We turned up in our towels and soon realised that everyone else was naked, which we weren’t too keen on.”
“It was a mixed sauna too, so we were just sitting there surrounded by all these naked men and women. We all just looked at each other giggling.”
Peter – who has teenagers Junior, 17, and Princess, 15, with his ex Katie Price and Amelia and Theo with his 33-year-old wife Emily – recently shared the “simple” secrets to remaining in the spotlight for more than three decades.
Peter told the Argus: “It’s simple. Work hard, stay true to yourself and don’t be an idiot.”
