Pete Waterman has confessed to being a "terrible" husband to all of his three wives.
The pop guru has been married to Elizabeth Reynolds in the 1970s, Julie Reeves in the 1980s and actress and model Denise Gyngell from 1991 until 1999, and has now admitted he was a "b*****d " for walking out on his wives, but he couldn't have done anything in a different way.
Speaking on tomorrow night's (25.10.13) episode of 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories', he says: "You've shown how much of a b*****d I was. I walked away from three women."
When asked what kind of husband he had been over the years, Pete tells Piers: "Terrible. I was never there. Do I regret it? Yes, I feel sorry that I did that.
"But could I have chosen any other path? No, not at all."
Pete, 66, admits his demanding job running a pop factory and producing hit records for stars including Kylie Minogue and Rick Astley meant he missed out on seeing his own children grow up.
He says: "I couldn't have done it. I think they understand. You have to give it 100 per cent."
During the show, he also reveals his heartache over the death of his son Paul, who was on a life support machine after suffering a possible stroke, aged 34.
The former 'Pop Idol' judge explained he had told Paul, "I'll see you in the morning," and, "I love you," before turning up at the hospital at 5.30am the next day.
He said: "I knew he wouldn't last the night - and I went to the room and he wasn't there.
"He died and no one even rang me. So I never saw him again. That was a pretty difficult moment."
Pete's 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories' episode will air on ITV tomorrow (25.10.13) at 9pm.
