Sky Atlantic have confirmed today that they have commissioned the second season of Penny Dreadful - extended to a total of 10 episodes - to premiere in 2015.

Starring Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Eva Green and Billie Piper, the series will go back into production later this year, shooting on-location in Dublin once more.

“Over the last few years we have made massive strides in bringing world class dramas to our customers' screens. Penny Dreadful epitomises the cinematic scale of drama we have come to expect from Sky Atlantic and we are really looking forward to continuing our partnership with David Nevins and Showtime, John Logan and Sam Mendes in the second series.” said Stuart Murphy, Director of Sky Entertainment channels.

Penny Dreadful's first season continues on Sky Atlantic and Sky Atlantic HD, with episode 4 premiering next Tuesday, June 10 at 9pm.
