The new series of 'Peaky Blinders' will feature a "supernatural" twist, according to Steven Knight.
The creator of the popular show has teased details of the new series during a fan Q&A on the show's website, giving viewers an insight into what they can expect as storylines evolve.
He shared: "I like the supernatural element. 'Is Tommy [Shelby] cursed?' In other words, is everything predestined, are lives already mapped out? Do you have free will or not?
"Tommy sometimes feels that he doesn't because it seems that everything is destined to stop him or move him in a particular direction. It's the same with the whole family.
"I explore that more in the next series."
Meanwhile, Steven previously revealed he almost cast Jason Statham in 'Peaky Blinders'.
The showrunner initially looked to the big-screen action hero to play gang leader Tommy Shelby, before eventually giving the role to Cillian Murphy.
He said: "I met them both in LA to talk about the role and opted for Jason.
"One of the reasons was because physically in the room Jason is Jason.
"Cillian when you meet him isn't Tommy, obviously, but I was stupid enough not to understand that."
In the end, Steven was swayed by a text message from Cillian, who pointed out that while he's very different from Tommy, he was more than capable of the transformation.
He shared: "Afterwards, he sent a text saying, 'Remember, I'm an actor'.
"Which is absolutely the thing because he can transform himself. If you meet him in the street he is a totally different human being."
