Paul O'Grady has landed a role in 'Holby City'.
The 'Love of Dogs' presenter - who was taken to intensive care when he suffered heart attacks in 2002 and 2006 - will make three guest appearances in the BBC One medical drama in September as cancer patient Tim Connor, and he can't wait to for his part to be screened.
He said: "I'm a big fan of 'Holby City' so to be featuring in three episodes is absolutely brilliant."
'Holby City' executive producer Oliver Kent is delighted Paul has joined the programme for a hat-trick of episodes, insisting the 58-year-old presenter is exactly what the show needs.
He said: "Having Paul appear in 'Holby City' is such a great coup for the show.
"Paul has a vibrant personality and a very unique way of engaging with the audience - not to mention he's incredibly funny.
"This is exactly what we need for a storyline that will be filled with a rollercoaster of emotions."
The role makes a drastic change from Paul's comedy work as his drag queen alter-ego Lily Savage - who he is bringing back for one final time next year - and his teatime chat show 'The Paul O'Grady Show', which is to return to ITV later this year.
