Patsy Palmer will return to 'EastEnders' for the fourth time.
The 47-year-old actress is set to bring her alter-ego Bianca Jackson back to Walford again, in order to support her on-screen adopted daughter Whitney Dean through her arrest and murder trial after she admitted to killing her stalker.
A source told The Sun's Bizarre TV column: "Bianca is a legendary character and the writers are always delighted to be able to invite Patsy back to play her.
"Whitney's admission will lead to some tough times for her, so her adoptive mum comes back to help her out. Although it remains to be seen how helpful Bianca back will be for her."
This will be Patsy's fourth stint on the BBC One soap, since she first joined in 1993 and she is set to start filming in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Maisie Smith recently revealed she would love to see her "second mum" Patsy return to 'EastEnders' for good.
The 18-year-old star - who plays Tiffany Butcher in the show - was reunited with her on-screen mother in September when Patsy reprised her role for a short stint and Maisie is keen for her to make a permanent return.
She said: "Patsy is like my second mum, she always has been.
"I'd love to have Bianca back. The relationship between her and Tiffany is so great, it was hilarious. They bounced off each other every day and it'd be nice to continue that."
Maisie believes it is "inevitable" that Tiff will end up leading a no-nonsense approach to life like Bianca, and thinks it may have already happened.
She added: "I'm often asked if Tiffany is turning into Bianca, but I think it's already happened.
"It's inevitable I suppose, spending so many years with her it would be quite hard not to."
