Patsy Palmer refused to be interviewed on 'Good Morning Britain' after the show branded her an "addict turned lifestyle guru".

The former 'EastEnders' actress appeared on Wednesday's (17.03.21) programme via video link from her home in Malibu but was unimpressed by the caption at the bottom of the screen, even though it was a quote from her own memoir.

The 48-year-old star appeared unimpressed from the beginning of the chat, when host Ben Shephard asked if she had relocated to the US to get away from being associated with her 'EastEnders' alter ego, Bianca Jackson.

The presenter asked: "Did you move to get away from people shouting 'Ricky' at you in the street?"

She replied: "Um, not really not just for that reason, maybe one of them."

And after co-host Susanna Reid suggested she had "done what Meghan and Harry did" to start a new life in the US, Patsy took further offence.

Patsy initially began to answer a question on whether she got more privacy in Malibu before cutting herself off.

She said: "I think you do..."

And then referencing former presenter Piers Morgan's mid-show decision to walk off set last week, she said: "You know what, I don't even want to do this interview, because I don't even want to look what it says at the bottom of that screen.

"So I am just going to switch off, do a real Piers Morgan, and say it's not OK to have 'addict to wellness guru' on the bottom of the screen."

Susanna apologised, but the guest remained unhappy.

Patsy said: "My issues that I had years ago, that were talked about many years ago, and it's over, so I am not going to talk to you, don't worry about it but I don't want to talk to you."

She then turned off her camera, and embarrassed Ben explained "addict to wellness guru" was a quote from her book.

He added: "It wasn't our intention, Patsy, certainly wasn't our intention to hurt Patsy."

Susanna added: "I have no idea that was on the a screen, that's a terrible shame, our apologies to Patsy, she is entitled not to do the interview and we carry on."

Ben later insisted they hadn't planned to "ambush" their guest but were going to discuss her wellness brand.
