Patsy Palmer says Noel Gallagher wanted to marry her.
The 50-year-old actress claimed that the Oasis star declared his “love” for her, complete with his dinner of egg and chips as they both dined in the canteen at the BBC’s Television Centre In London some years ago.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: “One day I saw Noel Gallagher in the canteen carrying a tray of egg and chips - Oasis were appearing on ‘Top of the Pops’.
He bounded over to tell me how much he loved me in the show, went down on one knee, still holding his egg and chips and asked me to marry him!”
The former 'EastEnders' actress also revealed that she was confronted by a young Victoria Beckham during her time on the BBC soap just before she shot to fame as Posh Spice in the Spice Girls and in 1996 and had asked her for advice on how to handle fame.
She said: “[Victoria] told me she loved me in ‘EastEnders’ and wanted to know how to handle fame. [She said to me] ‘I’m in an all-girl band and I think we’re going to be big “A few months later their debut single ‘Wannabe’ hit the charts and the Spice Girls were everywhere.”
The revelations come just weeks after Patsy was eliminated from the ITV1 skating show 'Dancing On Ice' along with professional Matt Evers, having failed to impress the judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean when she dressed as Victoria's bandmate Geri Halliwell in her famous Union Jack dress and performed a routine set to their 1997 smash hit single 'Spice Up Your Life.'
Of her time on the show, she said: "I’ve met the best people ever and we’ve been like one big family. Everyone on this show (is a) truly beautiful (person).”
