Paddy McGuinness once saved Peter Kay after he was locked out of his hotel room naked.
The 48-year-old presenter has recalled the time he had to help his 'Phoenix Nights' co-star when he was caught "with his c*** out" in a very awkward situation.
Paddy had called up his friend one night before realising they were both staying in adjoining rooms at London's Soho Hotel.
Writing in his book 'My Lifey', he said: "It was all great fun until Peter swanned into my room starkers, only for the door to lock behind him...
"The dressing gown was too small for him, there was no way it would close at the front. I'd have to call someone down to reception to send someone up to unlock the door.
"I mean, how do you explain that one? 'I've got one of the nation's best-loved comedians in my room with his c*** out.' "
Thankfully, the hotel staff were very understanding, and Paddy was glad they were so "discreet".
He added: "The manager knew who we both were but to be fair just opened up the locked door and left.
"That was the good things about the Soho Hotel, it was discreet."
The duo starred as doormen Patrick 'Paddy' O'Shea and Max Bygraves in 'Phoenix Nights' and its 'Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere' spin-off, and Paddy previously revealed fans would be delighted if the latter's Christmas specials ever see the light of day.
Responding after his co-star revealed there are two episodes written and ready to go, he said: "Peter did a live show a week or so back and he's throw it out there. But that's what he does.
"He makes an appearance once very three or four years, says we're going to do some 'Max and Paddy', then no one sees him again. And then every interview I do, it's like, 'When's it back?'
"I'm texting him, 'Why have you done that again?' But if you look at what we've already written, you think, 'That will go down really well.' "
