New key characters from the third book and scheduled to appear in the third season of Outlander have now been cast, with Amazon Prime Video announcing today that Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds will play Geneva and Isobel Dunsany respectively.

Described as "as beautiful as she is headstrong", Geneva is the eldest of the two sisters, but maybe not the greatest person to have as a role model. She's also said to be "petulant, spoiled and demanding of the servants at their home" of Helwater, used to always getting what she wants. Underneath it all though, she holds a certain naiveté and vulnerability thanks to her sheltered life.
Isobel seems to be the polar opposite to her sister. Described as "warm, friendly and genuine", she is the more likeable of the siblings and can feel compassion towards others, rather than being so selfish and stuck up.
Filming for the 13-episode third season began in August of this year in Scotland, ahead of the production moving to South Africa at some point in 2017.
