Following last year's hugely successful single drama which drew a consolidated audience of 6.3 million as well as a nomination at the RTS Awards for Best Single Drama, we'll pick up things six months on from when we last saw Molly Dawes - played by Lacey Turner.
Having been born and raised with few prospects in East London, Molly went from nothing to being a soldier in the Royal Army Medical Corps, and has now been deployed to Afghanistan as a serving medic.
On one of the final missions before the British Army withdraws from the country, Molly couldn't be happier to join the platoon but makes an awful first impression on leader Captain James (Ben Aldridge).
When she then discovers Smurf (Iwan Rheon) - a face from her past she wishes she could forget - things go from bad to worse.
Determined to prove herself despite all of the pressure around her, a growing friendship with a local Afghan girl puts Molly in a position that risks more than just her reputation.
Forced to mature quickly by the experiences she faces and challenges she shares with her platoon, her view of life will be changed in Afghanistan forever.
