Rita Ora has been overlooked for a place on 'The Masked Dancer' panel.
The 30-year-old pop star appeared alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan on the recently-concluded series of 'The Masked Singer', but her place on the new ITV spin-off show is now set to be filled by Oti Mabuse.
Looking forward to her new role, Oti explained: "I’m so thrilled and honoured to be joining the panel on 'The Masked Dancer'. I’m a huge fan of 'The Masked Singer' and I loved the US 'Masked Dancer' so I just can’t wait to start on this show. As a dancer I will be watching the dancers intently looking for clues - it’s going to be so much fun!!!"
Despite leaving the show, Rita has insisted she can't wait to watch the new series.
The pop star was widely criticised last year after having a birthday party in London amid a national lockdown.
But looking forward to the new format, she said: "'The Masked Dancer' is going to be sooo much fun I can’t wait to watch you all. Sending so much love all the way from Australia."
The success of 'The Masked Singer' has prompted ITV to commission 'The Masked Dancer'.
The new format will see the judges try to guess the identity of the dancers based on their movements and a series of subtle clues.
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s head of entertainment commissioning, can't wait for the show to air.
She said: "'The Masked Singer' is a huge hit for ITV and our viewers can’t get enough of this colourful guessing game. 'The Masked Dancer' will build on that success and create a new format that will be just as much fun and entertaining for our viewers."
